Arc Walton

The project you’re looking involved a total “gut renovation” The Walton facility had a need to introduce a new personal care space to facilitate their needs for personal care of their clients. We were given a detailed set of engineered plans to re-design the space to meet that need. We removed the two existing rooms back to the perimeter walls. The job called for phase construction which would allow staff to continue to operate the facility during renovation so we established a 3 phase approach.

Phase I: We concentrated on building a new ADA compliant training bathroom. The bathroom was designed to teach clients how to use a public restroom. All new flooring, walls, ceilings, lighting and equipment were installed.

Phase II: The main personal care room was constructed with features such as a new Arjo Huntley lift system that allows clients to be lifted and transported across the room into a new barrier free shower and /or exam table. A new air handling system and climate control system was added along with a specially designed lighting system. Integrated controls allowed for staff to control amounts of light, heat and air flow .We installed custom Brookhaven cabinetry and a corian counter top with a utility sink. Floor drains were introduced and a mosaic tile was applied.

Phase III: The last phase involved creating a laundry area where staff and clients were able to process bedding and clothing as needed. The laundry space was constructed to allow ADA access to work stations. We provided a new washer and dryer as part of the project. We were able to complete the job within the 90 day allotment and did so without interrupting daily operations of the facility
